On Saturday 23 February, fire was set (arson) to the inside of Bamba Izandla Preschools wooden classroom in Chesterville; causing considerable damage. Children's matresses, plastic chairs, posters and the carpet were destroyed. The staff are busy with clean-up operations and have so far painted over the blackened walls.
Request for materials:
On behalf of the school principal, Vukukhanye is appealing for donations of a carpet (6mx6m) educational posters, plastic chairs and children's matresses. Paint and ceiling board (8 standard size sheets) would also be very usefull.

Yolunda is a very sweet 3 year old girl who has been at the Home for 6 months, and has settled very well. She is attending Bamba Izandla Prechool in Chesterville.
Life Health Care (Crompton Hospital & Westville Hospital) treated 2 groups of children to outings to Ushaka Marine World and Gateway. The children had a wonderfull experience, and we are very gratefull to Life Healthcare for their support.
A team of 10 volunteers from the UK spent 2 weeks helping at the foster home in Westville and other projects. Thank you all very much for your hard work!
Lwandile was placed at the Foster Home he Department of Welfare at the age of 2 weeks. A few months later, he was placed in the care of extended family in Molweni. Vukukhanye is continuing to provide transitional support (e.g. infant formula, social work support).
